My final project at TUDelft was a project I started with Reonald Westerdijk. Together we made an urban plan for the Phoenixstraat in Delft, after the track, that cut the city in 2, went underground. We called the project, roughly 1 km Phoenix.
History told us, the 2 neighboorhoods were never connected, there had always been a border inbetween. Untill the 19th century they even were different municipalities. So we decided to create a kind of filter with connections but also with it’s own identity.
Within this inbetween community, I designed my Short-stay facility.
A housingproject for foreign students and expats. A strong connection to the city, but also focus on a strong collective feeling. Hence the title, campinggevoel, campingfeeling.
